Cornes de Pié Bérarde
A little gem of solitude a stone's throw from La Bérarde, in a grandiose setting.
With Philippe & François.
Philippe, Valérie and their children have just arrived in La Bérarde for the holidays. Philippe and his son François are already keen to head into the mountains. It must be said that this little preserved corner of paradise recharges everyone who spends a few days there.
They chose the Oisans for its wildness and we set off together to taste it. Accessible in a day, the Cornes de Pié Bérarde are a magnificent, little-visited viewpoint whose north-east spur offers pleasant climbing under the gaze of the Dôme des Ecrins. Solitude guaranteed.
After 300m of climbing, cleverly weaving along the crest, we reach the summit for a delicious picnic prepared and carried by Philippe! It's 12 noon, the weather is splendid and there isn't a breath of wind.
After a good break, a long 50m abseil and a stretch of ridge, here we are at the Col de Pié Bérarde, from where we step into the vast Ruinette combe.
Right next to La Bérarde, this valley faces the whole Vénéon valley. A jewel well guarded by its difficult access, which weaves between the rock bands.
We finally reach the Carrelet path, worn out by this terrain, which is nevertheless full of flowers!
Hats off, guys, for a first day of holiday!
